Valentin Zlatev

Valentin Zlatev has been the Chief Executive Officer of "Sustainable Energy Supply" since 2020, where he is also a shareholder.

Prior to this, from 1998 to 2020, Mr. Zlatev held several senior executive positions at Lukoil, including Regional Manager for the Balkans, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Lukoil Neftochim Burgas, as well as General Director and Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Lukoil Bulgaria.

From 2014 to 2019, he was elected Chairman of the Bulgarian Petroleum and Gas Association, the largest and most influential industry organization in the fuel production and trading sector.

Valentin Zlatev holds a Master's degree in International Law from Moscow State Institute of International Relations and a PhD in Comparative Politics from the Russian Academy of Sciences. Internationally, he is distinguished by his publications, including several books and articles in the field of geopolitics, such as: "Oil, Gas, and Geopolitics" (2000); "Globalization and the Oil and Gas Business" (2001); and "The Vector of Change and Globalization," published in the book "Dilemmas of Globalization – Societies and Civilizations: Illusions and Risks" (2002).

Mr. Zlatev is the first Bulgarian to be awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by City University of Seattle, Washington.
